Madrid

I spent my year abroad in this incredible city and I still fall in love with it every time I go back.  I feel like it is a little underrated and Barcelona takes all the thunder when in fact Madrid is the one!  Sadly some of my favourite places aren't there anymore but I went for a hen party last year and grabbed these few below!

Cafe Murillo

You can eat here for lunch and dinner but I highly recommend the lunch/brunch. The interiors are cool with beautifully tiled floors and pale brown suede bar stools. You can sit outside on the terrace as well if its sunny and its the perfect stop-off after visiting the famous Prado museum. They do delicious eggs with all the usual salmon or bacon options. Coffee is also great!

Los Artesanos 1902

Churros that first opened in 1902 and it's still going. This is a classic Spanish joint with stark lighting and cool marble interiors. The waiters wear traditional uniform and you can watch the churros being made in the old-school-style fryers. I went for the simple churros with dark chocolate sauce with my morning coffee.

La Pescaderia

This was such a great find and is perfect for dinner with a large group. They have amazing service and some of the most delicious tapas with deep fired cod balls, jamon Iberico and pan con tomate. For mains we enjoyed crab salad, roasted salmon fillet and grilled vegetables and some yummy cocktails. The restaurant has a buzzing atmosphere and a nice quirky interior. It's situated in Madrid's Malasana area so perfect for post dinner cocktails and bars.
