Monsieur Vuong Noodles

I went to this wonderful place two years ago and I still talk about how good it is.  I know that it is still going strong producing the most amazing Vietnamese noodles in town.  It is a bit of a wait for a table but priced reasonably.

Michelberger Hotel

If there is one place to stay in Berlin, the Michel Berger is the one!  I've stayed here both times I've visited the city in the space of about 7 years and it never gets old.  It's in the perfect location (5 minutes walk from the Berghian:) and the interiors and staff are amazing!  It has an awesome breakfast in the mornings and the evening menu is also delicious.  There is a nice bar in the lobby for pre drinks and depending on what size group you are you can get rooms for two to dorm-sized rooms.  I would recommend their gift shop as well.  I bought one of my all-time favourite t-shirts from there!

Berghain

Best nightclub I have ever been too!  I have been twice at different times; first thing on a Saturday night and second time on a Sunday afternoon.  Here is what I learnt about the rules for getting in below.  It seems like a big faff but I promise that past the pretentious bouncers are a bunch of friendly Berliners and some incredible house/electro music in the Panorama bar:

1. Wear all black and make sure it's not fancy.  Think causal, grudge like hoodies, trainers and plain stuff.  Colourful garms draws attention about you don't want that.

2. Don't speak English in the queue and basically don't talk at all.   Know your German for yes, no and thank you.

3. If in a group, divide yourselves up and try and wait in the queue all solo.  I got in when I waited in the queue alone.

4. If you don't get in, go home and change and make yourself look different.  Take my word this works.

5. Don't be on your phone at all in the queue!

6. The first time I went I arrived on a Saturday night when there is the longest queue and jumped it with some Germans.  I wouldn't recommend this as the bouncers hate queue jumpers and it is quite hectic at this time.  The queue pretty much disappears on a Sunday morning/midday and this is when Berliners go.  Club doesn't shut until Tuesday morning so Sunday is actually the best day.

Katz Orange

We went here for dinner one night and came back for drinks at the bar later on and stayed for hours!  It has such a wonderful cosy atmosphere!  The food was great and the setting is pretty special.  If you came in the summer you could sit in their beautiful courtyard.  They also have a sister restaurant called Panama that I'm sure is also worth checking out.
