Amalfi Coast

This is a collection from the road trip that I did with my brother Christian when we travelled from Naples to Amalfi.  Such a melting pot of fabulous eateries and stunning towns.  This place is without a doubt one for the bucket list that needs to be revisited again and again and again!

Naples

L'Antica Pizzaria Da Michele

If you're up for Pizza the Neapolitan way then this is the place to come to.  It was made even more famous when Julia Roberts filmed there for "Eat, Pray, Love" and it serves up some amazing pizza.  Do not be put off by the queue, it actually adds to the whole experience.  It is worth the wait and the pizza is also incredibly reasonable, priced at around 5 euros a pizza.

Nennella

This is simple Napoli food with a seasonal set menu of fried courgettes, aubergine and tomatoes and a delicious tomato rigatoni pasta. Again extremely reasonably priced and is a real locals hangout.  It's definitely not fancy with worn wooden tables and red and white checked tablecloths.  The service is a little dodgy but I kind of enjoyed the roughness of it all.

Sorrento

Da Emillia

This is where Sophia Loren came to eat her fresh fish while she was filming in Sorrento.  This is a family run-business and has been over 50 years and serves freshly caught seafood.  It is all prepared simply with olive oil and lemon.

Nerano

Maria Grazia

It was such a treat coming here.  Rosa, the daughter prepared me lots of their signature antipasti which consisted of stuffed red peppers, fried tiny pink prawns and parmigiana.  They also serve a wonderful drink of white wine in a jug stuffed with locally grown peaches.  It was amazing!  Rosa's family pioneered courgette pasta and it truly was the most delicious bowl I have ever eaten.  Their kitchen is also worth having a look at!  Totally worth coming to this legendary beach restaurant!

Positano

Da Adolfo

This place is the dream! You have to get a little boat from the port in Positano and look out for the boat with a red fish on it.  It's amazing for local fish and some delicious desserts but more to the point the location is stunning.  It's a very low-key beach restaurant with mattress for you to spend the day there.  The boat picks people up from 10am-1pm and I think brings you back around 4pm.  This place gets seriously booked up so call ahead at least two weeks before you plan on going.  See their wonderful menu below:

Montepertuso

La Tagliata

There is no menu at La Tagliata and you simply trust what they are going to serve you.  I loved the element of surprise and everything is overseen by the lady of the house, Dora.  She gets up super early to make the pasta and everything comes from their beautiful garden.  It's a mixture of lots of roast vegetables, homemade ricotta, gnocchi, grilled meat platters, followed by an amazing assortment of desserts.  I had some lovely pistachio profiteroles, pear and ricotta cake and a delicious cheesecake.  I practically rolled out the door but this place has been famous for years and it is not surprising why as the quality is insane.  It is situated in Montepertuso, the little town above Positano.

Positano

Il Ritrovo

I loved this little spot which also offers some great cooking lessons.  I had some really good antipasti and a fantastic aqua pazza.

Furore

Il Bacco Bacco

This place supports the "Slow Food" system that protects lots of local and small business farms.  I had their Nannarelle pasta and a great linguine made with anchovies.  The restaurant has some intriguing stories to tell and they also offer some nice cooking classes.

Ravello

Cumpa'Cosimo

I stayed in Ravello for a friend's wedding and one of the nights we went to this restaurant.  The plate of x5 different types of pasta is other-worldly or like crack its so good!  They have all of these stories about Jackie Kennedy coming to visit back in the 60s and they produce some incredible food.  It's a true locals hangout!

Revello

Belmond Caruso Hotel

I was here for my mate's wedding and I was a bridesmaid so I was lucky and got the chance to spend the whole day by the pool of the Caruso.  They had this amazing rustic pizza garden when they made some good Napoli-style pizzas.  Their margaritas weren't bad either;)  The pool area is stunning and I recommend going for dinner one night to enjoy the spectacular view.  One of the best around!
