Wagyu Steak Tips! I had to cook some Wagyu steak recently for a job so I thought this might be handy for anyone celebrating and eating one of these seriously luxurious piece of meat. This recipe is for a 350g steak (I used American Wagyu from Snake River Farm that I bought from @provenancebutcher)

  • Bring steak to room temperature (about 30 mins- 1 hour) VERY IMPORTANT!

  • Season generously with sea salt and freshly ground black pepper. Both sides.

  • Get a large frying pan very hot. Add 1-2 tbsp groundnut oil. Lay the steak down into the pan facing away from you. For medium-rare, fry for 1.5 mins on one side and then turn steak to fry for another 2 mins. When you turn the steak over, add a couple of small pieces of butter, 2 smashed cloves of garlic and 3 sprigs of rosemary into the pan.

  • Remove steak after 2 mins on second side and onto a plate for 8-10 mins to rest covered in tin foil.

  • Then slice up steak at a sharp angle following the veins. Sprinkle over resting juices and eat as is.
